One of the top British dance and urban contemporary trios in the early '80s, Loose Ends formed in London. They were in the first place called Loose End, and included Carl McIntosh, Jane Eugene, and Steve Nichol. Virgin signed them in 1981, and their debut was written by Chris and Eddie Amoo of the Real Thing. The group changed its list to Loose Ends in 1983, and signed with MCA in America in 1984. Their single "Dangling on a String (Contemplating)" topped the R&B charts in 1985, and they perennial that accomplishment in 1986 with "Dull Down." Their last remove was "Watching You" in 1988, which reached numeral two. The group shuffled its lineup in 1990 for the liberation of Depend How Long, with McIntosh now joined by Linda Carriere and Sunay Suleyman. McIntosh besides produced several artists, notably Caron Wheeler.

Mich. Should Pass Law Requiring Birth Control Coverage For Insurance Plans Covering Prescription Drugs, Editorial Says

Michigan is one of about 25 U.S. states that do not have got laws requiring insurance plans that cover prescription drugs to cover birth control, and that "should variety," a Lansing State Journal editorial says.

According to the State Journal, a group of res publica House Democrats in February introduced a measure (HB 4295) that would authorisation insurance plans that cover prescription drugs to cover all FDA-approved birth restraint products, but the measure has "bypast nowhere." As a recent "episode" regarding the issue in Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) presidential campaign showed, this "is an way out that flies below the radar," the editorial says.

However, research has shown that increased access code to contraception "equals fewer unplanned pregnancies ... which should lead to fewer abortions," the editorial says, citing a Brookings Institution psychoanalysis that establish an expansion of class planning services, including contraceptives, covered by Medicaid for young women led to a lessening in unintended pregnancies. The analysis too estimated that the amount saved by avoiding each unintended pregnancy is $6,800, according to the editorial. The State Journal concludes that Michigan's insurance law should "reflect" the fact that birth control "works" (Lansing State Journal, 8/5).

Gladys Knight - Soul Divas Knight Labelle Hate Make-up

GLADYS KNIGHT and PATTI LABELLE have shattered their diva reputations by revealing they hate wearing make-up - and would prefer to hit the stage in jeans and T-shirts.

The soul queens sat down with Chaka Khan for a U.S. TV interview, and all agreed that the thing they hate most about being a celebrity is having to look their best all the time.

Knight says, "I hate it. I do not wear make-up if I don't have to."

And LaBelle adds, "I don't like having to sit for a freakin' hour and get a face painted on... I said I'm gonna go onstage next week (with) just my own ponytails, jeans and a shirt and see how you like me now."
